Fun Stuff!

Until 2 January 2010

Big Buck Competition
The Virginia Tech Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society hosts a Big Buck Competition this semester, open to all students and faculty. The contest starts immediately and closes at the end of deer season this year, 2 January 2010. Scoring will be an unofficial gross Virginia scoring conducted by members of The Wildlife Society.
$ 5 gets you in. All money goes towards The Wildlife Society. Whoever scores the largest buck by the end of the season wins it all, a massive pile of cash worth at least $ 50. Only white-tailed deer accepted. They do not have to be taken locally, however. Simply bring the deer to Blacksburg and contact President Kyle Waters (703.304.1282), and a time and place will be set up as soon as possible to score the deer.
If there are any questions please contact Kyle Waters, and the best of luck hunting to you all.

Wood Duck Boxes
Come to the Wednesday meeting and build a wood duck box! No, not a duck made out of wood, or a wood box for just any old duck, but a box made of wood for Wood Ducks.
Your manly men have already pre-cut various chunks of wood into handy bite-sized bits, so you need only come, assemble, and freak out!
Ducks like wood. Wood Ducks like boxes. We like Boxes for Wood Ducks.
Do you like Wood Ducks too?

2 December

Game Meat Potluck
Remember how Mamma always told you to eat your meat? That Momma! She always knew best. And we always do what Mamma tells us.
You know what else Mamma said? She said this: Come to the VT TWS end of the year Game Meat Potluck, 7 pm, in 317B Cheatham!
Bring your choice cuts of game meat, game meat dishes, meat sides, meat desserts, or tasty meat beverages. Maybe make a little note that says what kind of meat (deer, earthworm, rhino) so we don't get scared. And bring $ 2 if you can't cook but want to eat anyway.
Super fun!
