About Us

Who We Are, and Why

Our Mission:

The mission of the Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society at Virginia Tech is to promote professionalism in our membership through experience, networking, conservation awareness and education in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Our members develop and promote sound stewardship of wildlife resources and of the environments upon which wildlife and humans depend.

The Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society at Virginia Tech integrates the experience, knowledge, and participation of undergraduates, graduates, faculty, and wildlife professionals to provide learning opportunities and experiences for those with an appreciation and interest in wildlife.

To achieve the goals and objectives of the National Society, there are several working committees and regular chapter meetings. In addition, the society is very active within the Blacksburg community through education programs and participation in local issues. Involvement in the committees and attendance to the meetings is always welcomed and encouraged. We invite anyone to join our society.

We are a subsidiary of our Virginia State TWS Chapter as well as the National TWS chapter.
